Nose: Baking spice and extra oak, slight plum notes
Palate: Dark fruit all the way through
Finish: Nice soft oakiness
While normal double oaks only sit in its second barrel for 4-10 months, this whiskey sat in its second barrel for about 2 years! This extra time gave the juice more time to develop deep dark fruit flavors from that second barrel.
The traditional rye base Crittenden’s mash bill brings back the rye spice but the addition of a plum note makes it a unique item to add to your selection.
